“I’m a witness and I want my testimony to be honest and uncensored. I also want it to be powerful and eloquent and to do as much justice as possible to the people I’m photographing.”
It’s much better in High Def. The internet gets better each day. I’m not even all that offended by the BMW ads.
I would like to send a message to James Nachtwey – I am a photography BA (Hons) student in the UK. I hope that you can help me to contact him as I am working on an essay and dissertation which concerns war photography and identity. I would be so grateful for his help, as I have questions about a photograph which he took in 1984. Unfortunately I’m running out of time and despite thorough research, am unable to find answers to three questions.
I wish I could help, but I don’t know him. I checked his web site, http://www.jamesnachtwey.com/
There doesn’t seem to be any contact information. It looks like trying to go through Time Magazine might be your best bet, as they are listed as his only current affiliation (he’s no longer with Black Star or Magnum).
