Not trying to be too obtuse about it really.
This is a photograph from Lee Friedlander’s Like a One Eyed Cat monograph, which I’ve been trying to score for years. He did a series of photographs of computer workers that isn’t available much of anywhere else.
I KNOW he’s a nice guy in a good job but…..for a moment there…I thought it was a self portrait…..phew!
what a great suprise to see friedlander’s photo pop upon my screen like that and then to realize that that’s sort of me. like i’m sitting there just like that looking at a screen.
anyway. that’s a great set of photo’s by him. i always show those photos to my classes – to show that what you might think of the dullest place to photographs could actually turn into something really interesting.
seeing this here also reminds me that i want a flash. i want to pulverize things with light.
did you ever think friedlander was funny? i’ve always thought that he’s secretly laughing very hard inside.
All I know is that someone’s channeling Billy Wilder’s “The Apartment.” 🙂
