Cold Water

Harold Edgerton, 1940
Sadly, the slippers are still missing.
Discovering this gem by Edgerton, I started thinking about the similarity between flash photographs and being hit in the face with ice water. Flash is bracing.
The next time I'm near Nebraska, I really want to look at the Edgerton Center. I'm curious about the archives at MIT too. Who knew somebody was crazy enough to attempt flash photography from an airplane?
